Saskia Martínez

WELCOME

Saskia is a scenic artist and designer from New England, currently located in Boston and available for projects across the Northeast. Recent productions include How I Learned to Drive and The Taming of the Shrew at Actors’ Shakespeare Project (props design), The Addams Family at Wheelock Family Theatre (scenic charge artist), and Twelfth Night at Brandeis University (scene design). They also work as a teaching artist for theater tech and design at Wheelock Family Theatre, and are a graduate of Boston University School of Theatre’s Scene Design program.

As a kid, Saskia loved to write stories, read, paint, draw, sculpt, sing, and play music—a passion for storytelling plus an interest in the visual arts and a love of being part of a musicians’ ensemble led them to the world of theatre. A set facilitates a story and shape its movement, and their favorite part of working in this field is creating a rich and exciting playground for all collaborators in the story-telling process.
